Westport is a historic village located at the west end of Upper Rideau Lake, at the head of the navigable Rideau Canal system. Settled in the 1820s and incorporated in 1904, Westport sits as its own independent municipality, an enclave surrounded by Rideau Lakes Township, about 100 km southwest of Ottawa.
