Drummond/North Elmsley sits on the north shore of the Rideau River between Perth and Smiths Falls, with Highway 7 running through the township on its way from Perth toward Carleton Place. The township took its current form on January 1, 1998, through the merger of Drummond Township and North Elmsley Township, wrapping much of the countryside around Perth into a single rural municipality.
Nineteen named communities make up the township, including Port Elmsley, home to the township offices, along with Rideau Ferry, Balderson, Armstrong Corners, Richardson, and Wayside. Rideau Ferry itself sits at a narrow crossing point on Big Rideau Lake, connected by a historic swing bridge and known locally for its harbour and cottage community.
Water shapes much of the landscape here, from the Rideau River corridor to Mississippi Lake and the Innisville wetland further north, alongside farmland that surrounds Perth on nearly every side.
Housing in Drummond/North Elmsley mixes older rural and farm properties with newer builds throughout the township. Deb Driscoll, Jaime Peca, and Luke Geleynse work with buyers across Drummond-North Elmsley and can help you navigate what's currently available, from waterfront properties near Rideau Ferry to farm acreage close to Perth.
