Beckwith

Beckwith Township sits in Lanark County within Canada's National Capital Region, just south of Carleton Place and within reach of both Perth and Ottawa. Named after Sir Thomas Sydney Beckwith, the township was surveyed in 1816 with settlement beginning the following year, and its once heavily forested landscape has since been cleared into the farmland that defines much of it today.

Black's Corners, home to the township hall, anchors Beckwith alongside Franktown, Gillies Corners, Prospect, and the western half of Ashton. Franktown carries the nickname "Lilac Capital of Ontario" and hosts an annual festival tied to that history, while lakeside communities like Gardiner Shore and Lake Park sit along Mississippi Lake.

The Mississippi River and Mississippi Lake run through the township, and the Goodwood Swamp stands out as a provincially significant natural area. Beckwith Park adds sports facilities to the township's community infrastructure, having briefly hosted the University of Ottawa football team.

Housing in Beckwith ranges from farm properties and rural acreage to homes in its small communities near Carleton Place. Deb Driscoll, Jaime Peca, and Luke Geleynse work with buyers across Beckwith and can help you navigate what's currently available, from lakeside properties on Mississippi Lake to farm acreage close to Carleton Place and Ottawa.
