Most housing in this neighbourhood was constructed after the year 2000, during its most significant building boom. This part of Ottawa is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed in Carp to reach the nearest grocery store. Nevertheless, it is generally a reasonably short trip to the nearest pharmacy, which can supply some staple foods.
