Prescott

Prescott sits on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, on a strategic stretch of the river between Montreal and Kingston. The Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge connects the town to Ogdensburg, New York, crossing the river about five kilometres east near Johnstown.

Fort Wellington anchors the town's history, built by the British Army during the War of 1812 after Ogdensburg was used as a staging point for American raids into Upper Canada. The fort served its purpose of controlling the St. Lawrence for military use without ever coming under direct attack, and it remains one of the town's defining historic sites today.

Compact at just under five square kilometres, Prescott is a walkable riverside town bordered by Edwardsburgh/Cardinal, with Johnstown having served as an early regional settlement site before Brockville later became the county seat. The town's small footprint keeps its waterfront, downtown, and residential streets close together.

Housing in Prescott ranges from historic homes near the waterfront and Fort Wellington to more modest residential streets throughout the town. Deb Driscoll, Jaime Peca, and Luke Geleynse work with buyers across Prescott and can help you navigate what's currently available, from riverside heritage homes to walkable town properties, along one of the St. Lawrence River's most historic stretches.
