Osgoode

Osgoode sits in the rural southeast corner of the City of Ottawa, surrounded by farmland roughly two kilometres east of the Rideau River. The village was the seat of the former Osgoode Township before it became part of Ottawa through the 2001 municipal amalgamation, and the surrounding Osgoode Ward still carries much of that township's rural boundaries today.

Beyond the village itself, Osgoode Ward takes in a string of smaller communities, including Greely, Metcalfe, Vernon, Kenmore, Vars, Edwards, and Carlsbad Springs, each holding onto its own small town or farming character rather than blending into a single suburb.

Local life in the village centres on a handful of shared spaces, among them the Stuart Holmes Arena, the Osgoode Community Centre, and a small commercial strip of shops. The pace stays close to its agrarian roots even as the rest of Ottawa has grown up around it.
