Lastly, there are about 20 green spaces nearby for residents to explore, such as Alfred Taylor Recreation Facility - North Gower and Kars Recreation Centre, which makes them easy to access.
In North Gower, almost all dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This area is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 10% are renters. About 30% of properties in this part of Ottawa were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
Families will welcome that wherever their property is located in this neighbourhood, primary schools are nearby. In contrast, there are no high schools in North Gower. Residents are served by public and private primary schools. In terms of eating, a car is almost always needed in North Gower to access the closest supermarket.
This neighbourhood is an extraordinarily good part of Ottawa for driving. It is very easy to find a place to park. On the other hand, the transit infrastructure in North Gower is rather poor. Thankfully, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily around the corner. This neighbourhood is not very amenable to biking because the cycling infrastructure is quite bad, and there are a fair number of hills. Getting around on foot is also not very feasible for property owners in this part of the city because almost no day-to-day errands can be run without needing a vehicle.
