The noise levels in this part of the Metro Vancouver metropolitan area are very low, as the streets are usually very peaceful. This part of Greater Vancouver is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Roughly 70% of the units in the city are occupied by homeowners whereas the rest are rented.

It is easy to travel by bike in Richmond since riding is facilitated by the generally flat terrain, and there are a fair number of bike lanes. Travelling on foot is also feasible for property owners in this city; many daily needs are convenient to carry out without having to resort to a car. Getting around by transit can be at times challenging in Richmond due to the low service level. Nevertheless, there are many rapid transit stations with access to the Canada Line. There are around 20 bus lines traversing the city, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. On the other hand, cars are a reasonably good transportation option in Richmond. It is easy to park.
